2012 Annual High School Counselor’s Breakfast
02/07/2012 - By Naples, Florida

2012 Annual High School Counselor’s Breakfast

The Founders Fund, Inc. recently held its Annual High School Counselor’s Breakfast at The Club Pelican Bay. There were 11 Collier County High School guidance counselors in attendance along with several Founders Fund board members.

The purpose of the annual breakfast is to meet area high-school counselors, review the scholarship application process and gather information about the needs of local students. The Founders Fund members and counselors exchange information in order to best prepare students for the scholarship application process. Sue McNaghten, President of The Founders Fund and Joan Thomas, Scholarship Committee Member, encouraged counselors to share information regarding the sizes of upcoming graduating classes, the anticipated financial need of their students, and difficulties facing college-bound seniors in today’s economy.

The Founders Fund, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization, was created in 1991 by the Founding Golf Members of The CLUB at Pelican Bay. The mission is to provide financial assistance to young men and women from Collier County in their pursuit of higher education. In 2011, renewable annual scholarships of $2,000 each were awarded to 26 students from Collier County. For more information about scholarships, sponsorships, or participating in the April 2nd fundraising event, contact Sue Davenport at 239-593-0124 or 597-2244 or visit www.thefoundersfundinc.org.
