2nd Annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Dinner
03/04/2010 - By Palm Beach, FL

2nd Annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Dinner

Doctors and executives from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital attended a dinner on March 4, 2010 to discuss new developments in St. Jude’s battle against pediatric cancer.

The dinner, which was held at Club Colette, was co-chaired by Lourdes Fanjul, Talbott Maxey and Tom Quick.

Dr. William E. Evans, Director and CEO of St. Jude, and Richard C. Shadyac Jr., CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude, briefed guests about the hospital’s research developments. St. Jude has designed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.

A St. Jude faculty member was seated at each dinner table to share their experiences with guests and answer questions about the hospital.

"On behalf of my co-chairs Lourdes Fanjul and Talbott Maxey, we are thrilled to bring St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to Palm Beach,” said Quick, who also serves on the Investment Committee of the National Committee of the ALSAC and St. Jude Board of Directors and Governors. “St. Jude is amazing at bringing together scientific excellence and improvements that accompany incredibly efficient patient care. Research is freely shared with hospitals and institutions from around the world. The work performed at St. Jude is undeniably groundbreaking, heartwarming and lifesaving. There is truly no place like St. Jude."
