A Japanese Evening at Yo Shin So

The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) honored the varied forms of Japanese design beginning in August with exhibitions focused on floral design and architecture.

Recently, Atlantans celebrated the kickoff of this falls Japanese events at “A Japanese Evening in Atlanta,” a party and fundraiser at the home of Tom and Sarah Rodgers.

The event featured a tour of the Rodgers’ Japanese gardens, koi ponds, sculpture gardens and Japanese-inspired home. Guests also enjoyed sake and wine tastings, a traditional dinner, Japanese musicians and entertainment. Tokyo’s Ichiyo School of Ikebana Headmaster Akihiro Kasuya who designed the concurrent show at MODA and his son Headmaster Designate Naohiro Kasuya were also in attendance.
