Alzheimer's Foundation of America "Together for Care" Telethon

In tribute to individuals affected by Alzheimer's, celebrities recently united around this looming health crisis by participating in the taping of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s “Together for Care” telethon.

The telethon will air in 16 major markets on NBC December 4 and will be telecast live on AFA’s Web site for national viewing – www.alzfdn.org.

Al Roker of the “TODAY” show will serve as host, and actor Hector Elizondo, AFA’s honorary celebrity chairman, will help to educate the public about the disease that took his mother’s life. Performances will include Wilson Phillips, Kris Allen, Shontelle and Brett Eldredge, whose country music single “Raymond” was inspired by his grandmother’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Also lending their support will be Scott Adsit, Grizz Chapman and Katrina Bowden of the NBC sitcom “30 Rock,” “TODAY” show co-anchor Natalie Morales and nutrition contributor Joy Bauer, Elmo, talk show host Wendy Williams, actor Steve Guttenberg, actress and singer Nikki Blonsky, and others.
