American Museum of Natural History Summer Terrace Party

American Museum of Natural History Summer Terrace Party

The American Museum of Natural History's Junior Council concluded its 2009-2010 season with a panel discussion and cocktail reception on June 24, 2010 in NYC.

In 2001, the Museum created the Sackler Institute for Comparative Genomics and has been developing a comprehensive program of genomics research. Along with maintaining one of the largest non-human frozen tissue collections in the world, Museum scientists have been conducting research on the medicinal properties of leeches and on the spread of infectious diseases such as avian flu, SARS, and malaria. The evening’s panelists, which included Director of the Sackler Institute George Amato, Curators Rob DeSalle and Mark Siddall, and Sackler Institute researcher Sergios Kolokotronis, discussed current Museum research and its implications for human health.

Following the panel, guests enjoyed cocktails and live jazz outside on the Arthur Ross Terrace.
