Annual "Celebrating Independence" Gala hosted by Services for the UnderServed

Services for the UnderServed honored Rob Davis at “Celebrating Independence,” the Annual Services for the UnderServed gala, held on Monday, June 6th at the Allen Room and Atrium in Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

Proceeds from the event benefitted Services for the UnderServed which provides housing and supportive services to over 4,000 New Yorkers with diverse special needs and multiple challenges, enabling them to live with dignity in their communities, direct their own lives, and attain personal fulfillment. The event marked the launch of the SUS Veterans Fund, established to provide veteran services unfunded by government contracts.

The event included cocktails, dinner, dancing, entertainment and a silent auction. The evening was hosted by Andrew Zimmern of “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.” Music was provided by the Marcus Roberts Trio.

Members of the benefit committee included: Brian P. Crotty, Peter Friedland, Andrew Hurwitz, Barbara Lehrer, Marcus Mayo, James Vassalotti II, Thomas McCauley and Michael Vranos.

Honorary Co-chairs of the event were United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Linda Gibbs and Commissioner of the New York State Office of Mental Health Dr. Michael Hogan.
