Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Benefit Preview Party

On Thursday, October 20, The Woman’s Board of the Winnetka Community House proudly kicked off Antiques+ Modernism Winnetka with a benefit Preview Party at Winnetka Community House.

More than 370 collectors, designers and supporters of Winnetka Community House gathered for a sneak peek of this highly anticipated show. Chaired by Amy Brock, the preview party raised approximately $115,000 to support programs and services of Winnetka Community House, a non-tax supported organization that is dependent on a broad base of community support for its existence.

Antiques + Modernism Winnetka, a fusion of the Midwest’s most well-respected antiques and modernism shows, celebrated periods of design ranging from the 17th century to the mid 20th century. Throughout the weekend, sixty of the country’s most esteemed dealers showcased exquisite examples of American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nou¬veau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. Offerings included furniture, silver, ceramics, jewelry, garden antiques, lighting, rugs, textiles, fine and folk art, architectural artifacts and more. This year, design industry professionals had the opportunity to get a sneak peek and tour of the show on Thursday afternoon with Chicago Home + Garden magazine Editor, Jan Parr. Also in attendance on Thursday, were Lauren Gold and Sasha Adler, Design Directors of Nate Berkus Associates, who shopped the show and tagged their top picks of great design items available for purchase.

All proceeds from the Preview Party and event support the programs and services of the Winnetka Community House, a non-tax supported organization that is dependent on a broad base of community support for its existence. The Winnetka Community House was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in August, 2007. The Woman’s Board’s mission is to provide financial and volunteer support for this important institution. For more info visit www.thewinnetkashow.com
