Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers

On Saturday, October 15th The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers hosted its 14th Annual October Ball Fundraiser at The Museum of Modern Art.

During this sensational evening, over 900 young professionals came together for an evening of mixing, mingling, dancing, and bidding to benefit CBSBB’s mentoring programs for high risk youth. The event raised close to $200,000 and had record attendance, thanks to the benefit committee that included Katzie Guy-Hamilton, contestant on this season’s “Top Chef Just Desserts”.

The event was sponsored by Diageo, Tiny Prints and Crowded Room, and featured music by DJ Vito Fun. Diageo elevated this year’s event with a Johnny Walker whiskey-tasting bar, specialty cocktails, and passed Baileys. Guests enjoyed an extensive silent auction featuring luxury retail goods, exclusive dining and sporting experiences, and spa and vacation packages. When the evening came to a close at MoMA, partygoers continued the festivities at the Hudson Bar in the Hudson Hotel.

About The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers
For over 100 years, the Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers (CBSBB) has provided unique programming for the city’s neediest Catholic and non-Catholic children, offering opportunities to learn new skills and strengthen their families. CBSBB’s holistic and innovative approach to children recognizes: (1) the importance of developing programs that are comprehensive; (2) the need to strengthen each child’s entire family, and 3) the need to access and build community resources. We use an integrated matrix of services that includes mentoring, counseling, and after school programming to help our clients improve academic performance and reduce risky behavior, which ultimately leads to stable health, personal relationships and gainful employment.
