Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl (CCOC) hosted its annual “Children at Heart” fundraising gala honoring Jody Durst of the Durst Organization with the “Hope Grows Strong” Environmental Achievement Award , Ivanka Trump of the Trump Organization with the

The gala took place at Chelsea Piers, Pier Sixty in New York City and attracted celebrity guests including Kiefer Sutherland (24), Kelsey Grammer (Cheers and Frasier), Dominic Chianese (Sopranos), Hung Huynh (Top Chef), and Bethenny Frankel (Real Housewives of NYC) and was chaired by Amy and Bob Book, Jeanie and Jay Schottenstein, and Steven Spielberg.
The Gala featured an auction, emceed by Fast Money’s Guy Adami and Josh Katz, which showcased once-in-a-lifetime experiences and luxury items including an internship with Ivanka Trump, a catered dinner by Top Chef champion, Hung Huynh, dinner with Billy Crystal, a one-week luxury vacation to Morocco, a $22,000 Faberge egg, an $18,000 William Goldberg Diamond Pendant, and a walk-on role to Judge Judy followed by lunch with Judge Judy Sheindlin herself!
CCOC is the only organization in the world that permanently evacuates and treats sick children from the devastated Chernobyl region. Twenty-two years after the Chernobyl nuclear reactor exploded, children continue to suffer from cancer, heart maladies, and birth defects as a result of their exposure to the toxic radioactive material. CCOC evacuates them to Kfar Chabad in Tel Aviv, Israel, where they receive state-of-the-art medical treatment, education, food, clothing, and a loving home. To date, CCOC has rescued 2,562 children on 82 rescue missions; the 83rd is scheduled to arrive in Israel in mid-December.

CCOC will be hosting a New Leadership Event in the spring. Please contact Rachel Zisser at 212.681.7800 or Rachel@ccoc.net if you are interested in joining the committee. For general information on CCOC, please contact the CCOC office at (212) 681.7800 or visit www.ccoc.net.
