Cowichan Intercultural Society 30th Anniversary

Celebrating Community Diversity and Cowichan Intercultural`s 30th Anniversary!

The day was kick-started by the 4th Annual Walk of the Nations (organized by the Walk of Nations Committee). The walk began at the new Vancouver Island University Campus and ended at the Si’em Lelum Gym. The walk brought the community together for acceptance, understanding, respect and reconciliation of all peoples living in the Cowichan Valley.

The One World Festival featured 30 Door Prizes, 30 Entertainers, 30 Cultural Costumes, 30 Community Service Booths, 30 Silent Auction Items, 30 Local Vendors, 30 Ethnic Food Booths, 30 Fun Games. The day had a full line up of entertainment, activities, vendors and ethnic food in a multi-cultural context.

The Tapestry Gala, a vibrant step into the cultural heart of our community, was the fundraising event held at night. Featuring a silent and live auction, ethnic food and multicultural entertainment, this formal evening event celebrated 30 years of community support and care programs as well as highlight the generous support of our sponsors and partners.
