Dressed to Kilt 2011
04/05/2011 - By New York, NY

Dressed to Kilt 2011

Hot Scots and bold-faced names took over Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom on April 5, 2011 and got “Dressed to Kilt”. Incorporating this year’s theme of “Country Chic”, guests enjoyed performances by Amy Grant, Bowfire, Paolo Nutini and The Tenners.

As the highest-profile Scottish event outside of the U.K., Dressed to Kilt continues to celebrate all aspects of Caledonian culture with this year’s “Country Chic” twist. Through Friends of Scotland, Sir Sean Connery’s non-profit organization, proceeds from Dressed to Kilt will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America and its Scottish equivalent, the Erskine Hospital of Scotland along with the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides assistance to injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan specifically.

The 2011 Dressed to Kilt event featured runway appearances by Kellie Pickler (American Idol), Katrina Bowden (Actress, 30 Rock), Matthew Settle (Actor, Gossip Girl), Stacy Keibler (Actress & Model), Billy Connolly (Actor & Comedian), Jim Parrack (True Blood), Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter), Ahmad Bradshaw (New York Giants), Danny Ware (New York Giants), Amy Grant (Grammy-winning singer/songwriter), Gary Allan (Country music artist), Stealing Angles (Country music trio), Kix Brooks (Brooks & Dunn), Paolo Nutini (Scottish singer-songwriter), Bowfire (Canadian musical group), Thom & Max Evans (Scottish rugby stars), Louise Linton (Actress), Marcus Schenkenberg (Model), Angus Purden (Scottish TV personality) and Miss Scotland (Nicola Mimnagh).

A surprise appearance by Broadway cast mates Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Noth, Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan and Jason Patric riled up the audience and left little to the imagination as they turned around, lifted up their kilts and flashed the crowd!

Donald and Melania Trump along with Donald Jr. and Vanessa Trump, Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter) and Brian Cox (Actor) watched the celebrity catwalks from a private VIP area.
