Leather Elegance
06/04/2011 - By San Leandro, CA

Leather Elegance

Leather Elegance had its beginnings as a formal dance and fundraiser in 1998 and evolved into a formal dinner in 2002.

Those in attendance dress formally in uniforms, leather and corsets, and in evening wear. Leather Elegance has become one of the more popular and anticipated Alameda County Leather Corps (ACLC) events.

Leather Elegance beneficiaries have varied over the years. This year’s beneficiary was Alexander Hamilton Post 448 of the American Legion, the only post whose members are predominantly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered.

Leather Elegance 2011 was an evening of variety that included a silent auction, much social interaction, and an entertainer who sang beautifully. Funny stories about the current ACLC titleholders were asked for and eagerly rendered. Representatives from Alexander Hamilton Post 448 spoke. The evening ended much too soon, with no time left for the dancing that so many enjoyed in the past. Plans are already in progress for our next Leather Elegance.
