Madison Square Boys & Girls Club 44th Annual Christmas Tree Ball

More than 400 revelers combined their philanthropic forces to raise close to $1 million for the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club on Friday, December 3 at the 44th Annual Christmas Tree Ball held at the elegant Cipriani 42nd Street.

“Our motto at Madison is ‘Be Great,’” Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Joseph Patuleia said. “Because of the overwhelming generosity of the guests in attendance at our Christmas Tree Ball, more than 5,000 young men and women from some of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods in New York City will be able to learn, to play and to study—they will be able to ‘be great’ and achieve their full potential.”

The event was headlined by Madison’s own Columbus Clubhouse Dancers, who brought down the house with a Christmas medley of holiday favorites capped with a rousing rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” that had the crowd singing along in the spirit of the season. Corporate supporters included Platinum Sponsors the Hearst Corporation and G.H. Bass & Company as well as Gold Sponsors Deloitte and NYSE Euronext.

“This time of year is marked by a spirit of giving,” Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Board of Trustees President Myles D. Gillespie added. “I can think of no better gift to Madison than to have as friends so many selfless individuals who together contributed almost one million dollars in a single night to help create a brighter future for children in need.”
