Meir Panim Young Leadership Kick Off Soiree

Meir Panim Young Leadership Kick Off Soiree

American Friends of Meir Panim (AFMP) hosted its first-ever young leadership event on Thursday, October 21 at La Pomme, a hip lounge in NYC.

The kick-off soiree which was launched by Renatt Brodsky, AFMP Project Director, marked a renewed effort to educate young professionals living in New York about the poor economy in Israel and steps they can take to make a difference in the battle against poverty. More than one in every third child suffers from hunger in Israel!

Over 300 Manhattanites between the ages of 25 to 40 attended the event in downtown NYC to mingle, schmooze and learn about the poverty crisis in Israel and how they can help through Meir Panim’s relief centers. Chairman of AFMP, Michael Fromm was the key speaker of the evening and told young professionals in Manhattan why they should choose to get involved with Meir Panim. His answer was simple: “I like what it does, I like how it does what it does, and I really like the people who do what they do to make this organization a leader among Israeli relief agencies.”

The success of the event resulted from nearly 40 host committee members who each marketed the soiree to their network of friends and family through facebook and email. One young professional said, “This is by far the best charity event I have been to in months! There is a great vibe of people here tonight--I can't wait to get involved as a volunteer and learn more about Meir Panim!”
