"Music, Martinis & Modern Art," hosted by the Young Patrons of AFTAM (American Friends of the Tel Av

The Young Patrons of AFTAM (American Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art) gathered at the Chelsea gallery Winston Wachter Fine Art on Thursday, February 24, for an evening of "Music, Martinis, and Modern Art."

The event featured an exhibition of works by 33-year-old multimedia artist Sean Ryan and a performance by 30-year-old Israeli cellist Yoed Nir. Mr. Nir was classically-trained but crosses over into genres of rock, jazz and pop and has collaborated with the likes of Rufus Wainright, Regina Spektor and Yael Naim. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tel Aviv Museum's "Tempesta Dei Solisti" concert series, highlighting world premier works by young Israeli composers.

The evening was co-chaired by Mimi Banks and Seth Ginsberg. Host committee members were Tara Benet, Nicole Botesazan, Inga Burekhovich, Gideon Etra, David Flatto, Johanna Flaum, Eytan Gelley, Shana Gotlieb, Ben Haghani, Jacques Kugler, Ross Leff, Melissa Licker, Craig Nassi, Hilary Reich, Lindsay Ridell, Sharon Rotberg, Yoni Schwartz, Monique Sultan and Leah Trabich.

AFTAM, founded in 1974 to raise funds for the Museum and seek gifts of notable works of art for its collections, began the Young Patrons group five years ago. The Young Patrons' executive board members are chairperson Rebecca Alvandi, Matan Ben-Aviv, Nadav Besner,and Emeline Harari.
