New-York Historical Society's 2010 History Makers Gala

The New-York Historical Society’s 2010 History Makers Gala raised a record-setting $2.7 million on October 6, 2010 at the Waldorf-Astoria Starlight Roof.

The evening's honorees included Niall Ferguson, British historian and prolific commentator on contemporary politics and economics, and Byron Wien, Vice Chairman of Blackstone Advisory Partners LP and a trustee of the Historical Society. Among the 550 guests in attendance were Henry and Nancy Kissinger, Carl Icahn, Diana and Joe DiMenna, James Tisch, Billie Tisch, Judy and Howard Berkowitz, Kathryn Wylde, Merryl Tisch, Roger Hertog and Dick Gilder. At the event, Historical Society President & CEO Louise Mirrer announced the establishment of an annual Byron R. Wien program series focusing on issues relating to the American financial system with renowned experts.
