Princeton Tour de Cure for the American Diabetes Association

Princeton Tour de Cure for the American Diabetes Association

The Princeton Tour de Cure is an annual cycling event that supports the American Diabetes Association's research, education, and advocacy initiatives.

This year, the Tour celebrated its 20th anniversary with the largest participation ever in the Princeton ride. Almost 500 riders gathered together on Sunday, June 12, to ride a 10, 30, or 62.3 mile route.

To refresh the riders on route, there were conveniently located themed rest stops to keep them nourished, hydrated, and motivated. There they could snack on sandwiches, Clif bars and fruit, and refresh themselves with Wegmans water, sport drink, or Bai Anitoxidant Infusions - a Princeton based company that was proud to be a part of the event.

Despite the thunderstorms in the forecast, the weather remained clear, providing cool temperatures that were perfect for cycling. After the ride, participants and their families could relax and enjoy entertainment from NJ bands Fighting for Someday and Dancing Goats while feasting on food donated from Whole Foods, Muscle Maker Grill, Shop Rite, Gallery Cafe, Americana Diner, and Rita's Ice. Massage therapists from the American Massage Therapy Association were on hand to heal any riders' aches and pains. A select group--Champions, riders who raised over $1000 and Red Riders, those who ride with diabetes--was given access to the VIP tent where they received a chef catered organic meal and special thank you prizes.

As shown by the smiles on everyone's faces, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by cyclists, spectators, and volunteers alike and helped to bring great awareness to the need to STOP DIABETES. Thus far, MORE THAN $175,000 HAS BEEN RAISED to support the ADA's mission. This great event could not have been possible without the support of ADA Tour Sponsors Sanofi-Aventis and Novo Nordisk.
