SUPPORTERS GATHER TO CELEBRATE HANLEY CENTER’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Nearly 300 guests were treated to an elegant reception, dinner and chic after-party at The Breakers Palm Beach on Saturday, when Hanley Center celebrated its milestone 25th anniversary with the Purple Butterfly Ball and La Nuit Violette.

The Silver Jubilee celebration benefited treatment and prevention programming for youth at Hanley Center.
Celebrating 25 years as an institution dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction, the evening honored Hanley Center founders Mary Jane and Jack Hanley along with key supporters Anne Keresey and Anita Hamilton Michaels.

Following an elegant reception and silent auction, guests were greeted with magical butterfly centerpieces scattered under the soaring fresco-painted ceiling of The Breakers’ Circle Ballroom. The evening featured musical entertainment by Urban Gypsy and an exciting live auction dedicated to Hanley Center’s Passport to Peace, a prevention program designed for elementary-aged students aimed to increase their self-esteem and positive behaviors thereby avoiding the pressure that could lead to early substance abuse.

The celebration continued with an after party, La Nuit Violette (The Purple Night) where guests danced the night away to DJ, Adam Lipson. Guests shopped at the bangle extravaganza by Alex and Ani, “Silver Jubilee Exclusive Jeweler of the Ball” and enjoyed sweet treats by the Donut Divas!

“Hanley Center’s overriding priority is to help as many people as possible,” said Dr. Rachel Docekal, who leads Hanley Center Foundation. “Hanley Center has focused the past 25 years on education and prevention, understanding and treating the disease of addiction, and helping families tormented by drugs and alcohol. With the help of tonight’s supporters and the surrounding community, we are able to expand our critical work.”

Leadership for the Purple Butterfly Ball included honorary chairmen Linda and Mike Hanley; chairmen Isabel and Richard Furlaud, Barbara and Doyle Rogers, and Caroline and Bailey B. Sory. Petra Levin served as Gala Ambassador along with committee members Lyanne Azqueta, Kim Coleman, Nicholas Coniglio, Susan Goldstein, Terry Lehman, Fran Marcone, Amy Hanley Rothermel, Alexander Warner and David Warner.
