The American Cancer Society, Asian Initiatives' 1st Annual Young Professional Gala for Hope

The American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, Asian Initiatives, held its first annual "Young Professionals' Gala for Hope."

The purpose of this event is to engage Asian Americans in the work of the American Cancer Society, and to educate this population on the importance of Cancer Prevention and Detection. Nearly 200 of New York City's Asian-American population were in attendance. These individuals are employed in a variety of fields including medicine, business, real estate, nonprofit, and government. The event honored fashion designer Zang Toi for his work in the fight against cancer and June Jee, Director of External Affairs at Verizon, and a prominent Asian-American civic leader. The event was chaired by Edward Ip, CEO of IUG Business solutions.

Gold Sponsor was Twin Marquis, Inc. Manufacturers of Asian dumplings, and Silver Sponsor was State Farm. Jade Sponsors were: IUG Business Solutions, GGG Group, Sys Integrators, Verizon, Netnix of New York, Argon Holdings Co., Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, Ming-Lai Florist, Toi See Yen, Alegre Family.
