The Carter Burden Center Hosts An Evening of Gilbert & Sullivan

On a frigid Wednesday evening February 2nd, members and friends of The Carter Burden Center for the Aging came out to see The Blue Hill Troupe perform Gilbert & Sullivan on the stage at The Carter Burden Center Luncheon Club in New York.

The Blue Hill Troupe creates and performs a unique concert program, featuring a chorus 40-60 strong with soloists, narration and piano accompaniment.

Concerts are loosely organized around a theme elucidated by witty narration, with selections ranging from Gilbert & Sullivan to musical theater to operetta. The Blue Hill Troupe has also been featured prominently on the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Concerts and Lectures series, and has performed twice with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall.

The Carter Burden Center for the Aging, Inc. is a non-profit agency established in 1971 by the late Carter Burden when he was a New York City Councilman. The mission is to promote the well-being of older adults through a broad array of direct social services and volunteer programs oriented to individual, family and community needs. The Carter Burden Center is dedicated to supporting the efforts of older people to live independently, safely and with dignity. For more information, please visit, www.carterburdencenter.org
