The Foundation for Social Change, created by Louise M. Guido hosted an evening at the Carlisle and Per Se Collections Fashion Showroom on East 52nd Street, to raise interest in the 2011 Global Conference for Social Change.

In October 2011 the Foundation will host the 2011 Global Conference for Social Change at New York’s UN Plaza Hotel, in conjunction with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, genConnect, wWomen, WorldPulse, Purpose Campaign, GirlUp and other organizations.

The Conference is designed for senior level executives of multinational corporations including small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME), non-profits and foundations. Moderators will include The New York Times's Jane Bornemeier, Fortune’s Heidi N. Moore and TheStreet.com’s Mia Haugen. There will be representatives from Venezuela, Brazil, Columbia, Ghana, India, Indonesia and other developing nations in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Amir A. Dossal, strategic advisor of the Foundation’s Leadership Council 100, spoke about the Council’s efforts that have drastically improved the life-course of many young women who would otherwise not have had a fighting chance at creating a life for themselves.

Membership in the Council is by invitation only. It is a global association that supports the core mission of the Foundation For Social Change. There is an e-Life curriculum put together by the NYU Stern Business School which teaches life and business skills to girls from extremely impoverished communities around the world. The Business School’s Dr. Jill Kickul was on hand to discuss these serious issues.

The focus turned to the beautiful fashions in the Showroom. It was a perfect location for the event. One reason we wear clothes is to be courteous to other people. Another is to protect us from the elements. Still another is to pay homage to our traditions. But, how we dress, how we present ourselves to other people can determine our success. Therefore, it’s important to know how to dress and what best fits each individual. http://foundationchange.org/
