The House of Faith and Fashion Tea Event
03/21/2010 - By Palm Beach, FL

The House of Faith and Fashion Tea Event

The House of Faith and Fashion hosted a high tea fashion event with internationally renowned designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka at the new Badgley Mischka store in Palm Beach.

The afternoon kicked off with an entertaining and informative discussion with The House of Faith and Fashion’s founder and creative director Tobi Rubinstein Schneier, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, followed by a personal preview presentation of the designers’ 2010 spring collection.

The event was hosted by Donna Schneier Goldberg, Bonnie Katz, Marilyn Katz and Andrea Stark. Tobi, Mark and James discussed the influence of faith on fashion and of fashion on faith, in front of a captivated audience including Iris Apfel, Marlene Strauss, Charlene Nederlander, Diane Goldman, Joan Genser, Terri Schottenstein and Lorraine Malasky. Mark and James shared anecdotal insights with Tobi and her guests, and divulged about their thoughts on the best dressed and most glamorous women today, including Catherine Zeta Jones, whom they feel is the epitome of old Hollywood glamour.

Afterwards, guests were privy to a preview of the Badgley Mischka new spring collection presented by the designers themselves. Proceeds from the event and the following week benefitted Morselife, a nationally recognized provider of healthcare, housing and support services for seniors and their families in Palm Beach County.

The brainchild of founder and creative director Tobi Rubinstein Schneier, The House of Faith and Fashion will host a national series of inspiring conversations about the balance between the spiritual and material worlds. Aimed to embody style, substance and spirituality, the series will ask, “Is Fashion a Faith?” “Is Faith Fashionable?” The series will explore these questions and more and provide insight into the intertwining of faith and fashion. The events will also benefit a selection of philanthropic organizations associated with The Hampton Synagogue, The New York Synagogue and The Palm Beach Synagogue. Tobi has enjoyed an illustrious career with over 30 years experience in the fashion industry, working with many high profile companies such as Victoria’s Secret, Baby Phat, Kmart and Ecko. Tobi founded The House of Faith and Fashion to combine her diverse fashion experience with her role as an active partner in the works of her husband Rabbi Marc Schneier, who is one of the most influential Jewish leaders of this century.
