The New England Society's 2009 Summer Solstice Party

The New England Society's 2009 Summer Solstice Party took place at the Mount Vernon House Museum on the evening of Tuesday, June 16th.

Approximately 80 members and friends gathered for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the historical garden to support the Society's Scholarship Program.

Established in 1805, the New England Society serves New York City's youth by issuing 8 annual scholarships to underprivileged New York City students attending New England colleges and universities. Two new scholars will be chosen over the Summer.

To be eligible for membership in the Society, one must live or have lived in New England, have New England ancestry, or have attended a New England educational institution. Members receive exclusive benefits, attend several events each year, and follow the achievements of our scholars.

For more information on the New England Society, please contact the office at (212) 752 1938 or refer to the website www.nesnyc.org.
