The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's 19th Annual Bunny Hop

On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, The Associates Committee of The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center hosted the 19th Annual Bunny Hop at FAO Schwarz Fifth Avenue, New York’s iconic toy store and world famous children’s wonderland.

A Society tradition and the most high profile family event of the year, the Bunny Hop is a thrilling evening for families and children of all ages. For the second consecutive year the event was sponsored by Papo d’Anjo, the leading European designer of fine children’s clothing with additional support from UBS Financial Services. Over 800 guests attended, including The Society’s members, celebrity guests and New York families. The evening’s Honorary Chair was Tina Fey who walked the special pink carpet for VIBs (Very Important Bunnies). The Event Co-Chairs were Celeste Boele, Annabelle Fowlkes and Laura Harris and the Vice-Chairs were Kate Allen, Kate Doerge, Laura McVey, and Palmer O’Sullivan.

Guests enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities including cupcake decorating from Magnolia Bakery; face painting by BongarBiz; balloon art by the Twisted Balloon Company; magic and live animal shows, photo booths; dress up areas; entertainment from magicians, DJs, appearances favorite child cartoons characters; private shopping, and much more.

The event raised over $350,000 to benefit the Associates Committee new pledge to raise $2 million over five years for the Pediatric Family Housing Endowment. The imitative helps pay for overnight stays at nearby accommodations for children and their families when they are receiving treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s renowned Pediatric Department and are unable to afford this expense themselves. The endowment is important because it helps to relieve some of the financial strain for families with children undergoing treatment at the cancer center.

Guests included: Tina Fey, Kelly Rutherford, Melania and Barron Trump, Heather Leeds, Leslie Heaney, Celeste Boele, Annabelle Fowlkes, Laura Harris, Shoshanna and Joshua Gruss, Sherman Meloni, Dee Dee Ricks, Muffie Potter Aston, Allison Aston, Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Alexandra Lind Rose, Ferebee Taube, Eleanor Ylvisaker, Lauren Stahl, Catherine Carey, Lisa and Chris Errico, Maria Villalba, Palmer O’Sullivan, Eleanora Kennedy, Elizabeth Fuller, Marina Rust Connor, Paige Hardy, Blair Husain, Stephanie and James Loeffler, Bettina and Edward Mirsepahi, Dara O’Hara, Claudia Overstrom, Marianna Rounick, Alexia Hamm Ryan, Kathy Thomas, Wendy Arriz, Christina Smith, Kate Doerge, Laura McVey, Christina Addison, Lise Evans, Angela Howenstein, Stephanie Nelson, Sybil Heine, Sara Schilleci, Clarita Fodor, Leslie Faulk, Amanda Taylor, Tia Mahaffy, Karen Cohen, and Barbara McLaughlin, amongst
