The Young Leadership Committee at the Jewish Children’s Museum First Masquerade Ball

The Young Leadership Committee at the Jewish Children’s Museum First Masquerade Ball

The Young Leadership Committee at the Jewish Children’s Museum held its very first Masquerade Ball to benefit the children of today and the leaders of tomorrow.

Over 300 young professionals gathered at 7 World Trade Center to celebrate the Purim Holiday in style with ticket sales going to sponsor the new permanent exhibition on the Jewish Children's Museum, 4th floor--"Journey Through History." Thanks to the generosity of the evening's attendees, the JCM is now one step closer to reaching their goal of building "Noah's Ark" interactive exhibit and play area that bring tremendous joy and knowledge.

DJ Edge spun for the crowd. The silent auction drew intense competition, with bidders vying for items ranging from a Ferragamo Bag and Gucci Sunglasses to one of a kind luxury experiences, beauty goodies and fabulous accessories.

While there was no formal dinner, there was an elaborate display of sushi, with on-site chefs serving up incredible cuts of fresh fish, and a selection of rolls "to die for." An accompanying station was filled with layers of cakes and mini desserts. For those looking for a quick burst of sweetness sans the grams of fat, there were tables and tables of hard candy, that only a child would envy.

Co-Chaired by Eric Brody and Nola Weinstein, the Young Leadership Committee held its Inaugural Gala in November 2008 at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Brooklyn. The Gala raised over $60,000 to further the JCM’s commitment to children worldwide.

As the ONLY museum of its kind, its fundamental purpose is to promote tolerance and understanding. The Jewish Children’s Museum provides exhibitions and programs for children of all faiths and backgrounds in an educational and entertaining format. Through contemporary technology and a hands-on approach to learning, visitors experience Jewish history, values and traditions in a manner that inspires an increased interest in Jewish culture.
