UJA-Federation of New York Generosity Signature Event

UJA-Federation of New York’s annual Generosity signature event, which brought together more than 700 philanthropists in their 20s and 30s for an evening of philanthropy was held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Capitale in New York City.

UJA-Federation of New York’s annual Generosity signature event, which brought together more than 700 philanthropists in their 20s and 30s for an evening of philanthropy, dancing, and state-of-the-art fundraising technology, was held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Capitale in New York City. The event raised nearly $230,000, garnering $85,000 in donations via text message.

UJA-Federation’s Generosity division, chaired by Peter Stern and Aaron Zises, is New York’s society for community involved, socially conscious young leaders in their 20s and 30s. Through exclusive events, programs, and trips, Generosity inspires future philanthropists who will create positive, meaningful, and lasting changes in the lives of those most in need.

The event featured Text-to-Pledge, a cutting-edge donor pledge technology that enables attendees to text message their gifts from their cell phones or PDAs and broadcast them in real time on multiple screens in the event space. The technology reached beyond the room and allowed for attendees’ friends and families and those unable to attend to e-mail, phone, or text their gift during the event.

Jackie Friedman, Lisa Richenstein, and Jerome Shapiro chaired the Generosity signature event. Committee members in attendance included: Kyle Koeppel, Lee Brodsky, Michael Olshan, fashion designer Jay Godfrey and his wife Dara Godfrey, David Baron, Jonathan Jesselson, and Ilyssa Rothfeld. Funds raised support UJA-Federation of New York’s annual campaign.
